Where did they go??

Okay... So I had eyelash extensions on since mid December and I loved them! Not having to put on mascara was so nice. And they were fun and dramatic...in a Pam Anderson sort of way (yes I am still talking about eyelashes). I only had to get them touched up every 4 to 6 weeks. And even though they looked high maintenance, they were not. I am sooooo not a high maintenance person. I only spent 2 min. on make-up each day (and yes, I did time it). Well I took them off to give my eyes a break..and what??? Where the heck did my own lashes go? I now have about 5 on my left eye and 3 on my right. And guess what? They WILL NOT curl!!! So I went to Nordie's (as my son calls it...I swear he will be gay but that's a whole different blog) and laid down some serious cash for good mascara....and still nothing! My friend Leslie (who also had hers done and taken off) says in about 3 weeks they look somewhat back to normal...so for now I am doomed to look like something is missing, but you just aren't quite sure what it is....look away...just look away.

P.s. Would I do it all over again? Absolutly!

Valentine's Day

Well I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day for the simple fact that my husband does so much for me the whole year that one day of celebrating it is silly to me. He did spoil me a week early by getting me a super cute cream purse from Bananna Republic "just because" and a bottle of yummy perfume (Moon Sparkle by Escada) that honestly makes my mouth water and want to eat it when I smell it.... our friend Jaimy offered to watch the kids and we went and saw 27 Dresses.... Soooo cute. :) I like to tease Marc because the longer we are married the mushier and mushier he gets (sorry that's really not a word)... and he is so sweet because he gets all emotional at song and chick flicks. Country songs I might add...lol I am so blessed that I have a husband that not only loves but adores me. It is such an amazing feeling to be loved so much....

How is the eating?

Well here is an update! The eating is fantastic!!!! I really am seeing the fat drop from my body. And when I say fat I don't mean I was fat...but I am totally leaning out! And my body shape is changing. Marc is amazed at what 3 and 1/2 weeks has done....Plus my hair and skin so much healthier. And energy level is up 100%. I really am so proud of myself because eating has always been an issue. I come from the mindset that if you want to loose weight ya don't eat.... Well I have learned how unhealthy and untrue that is! I start every day with a bowl of oatmeal with bluberries, flax seed and splenda. I use to never eat breakfast! But if I miss it I am honestly dragging the whole entire day! And I drink about 6 to 7 liters of water a day. No more soda...and I tried to drink Diet Coke but it just tastes icky now! And another favorite to eat...4 egg whites with fresh spinach scrambled with fresh ground pepper and salt. Delicious!!! We grill chicken and steak and make extra for salads...it has been so fun to really educate myself on healthy foods and the best part is how I feel inside. Like a cloud has cleared!!!

Not much new

No excitement here. Parent teacher conferences went well...my kids are good at school. And that's where it counts. Their teachers say how sweet they are (hmmm are you sure we are talking about the SAME kids?) and it is always good to hear. Taylor has about 3 more basketball games.. Her other dad came to the last game with his family...His wife Rachel didn't believe I would put a picture of her and I on the blog...ha ha We are really lucky with the relationship we all have. I really do like Corey's cute family and it's fun to see them. :) Some may think it strange that we are all friends. But really I don't at all. And it's good for Taylor. So Rach.. I really do love ya!!
Marc will be home about 1 more month with me (I have gotten so spoiled) then back to work. We are still hitting the gym hard. I could barely walk on leg day and today I am sore!! I love that feeling....3 1/2 more months til pool time!!! lol but seriously my goal is to be fabulous at 40!!! The eating has been great! I feel so much better and yeaterday a trainer (she is ripped!! in a good way) told me she can see a difference. Made my day!! There is something so exhilerating about feeling strong and fit! And it doesn't hurt that my hubby absolutly adores me!!! lol
We have had so much snow that Marc is kicking himself that he choose not to plow this year. But he says it is nice to stay home and not "have" to do it.
I have been doing a lot of reflecting these days...and I am just so blessed. I may not have made the best choices in my younger days...but opening my door that day Marc showed up on my front porch was the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I will never forget...I had spoken to my mom about 3 hours earlier and one of the last things she said before hanging up was "I pray everyday that the right man knocks on your door"....prayers are heard...
My ex-husband's wife and I..man my nose looks big!!
How can this be comfortable??
Guess who had a bad day..
Guess who else had a bad day...
Notice the collar and his button job..

Our Beloved Prophet

President Gordon B. Hinkley
I took this after the parade on the 24th
Yesterday my children had the day off from school. I decided to take them up to Salt Lake City to the viewing of our beloved Prophet..President Gordon B. Hinkley. What an awesome experience. We waited outside in line for over an hour. Then once inside again waited in the conference center until it was our time to walk past the Prophet. As soon as I stepped into that room I was so over come with emotion that I will always remember. In my entire life I have never felt the Spitit so strong as I did in that room. I know his spirit was there. As we left the room Bryce asked me "Mom did you feel the spirit in there?" I said "Yes I did. Did you?" He said yes and when I asked him how it made him feel he replied "Really good." And I must say my children were on their very best behavior that whole time. When walking out the woman who was behind us told me how impressed she was with how well behaved my children were. I know that it is an experience they will never forget. As I watched the television broadcast of his funeral I was struck again by how many truly loved this great man. He will be forever missed by many...but what it must be like for him to be reunited with his sweet wife again! He missed her so much and his love for her was so stong and so pure. I know I will never be able to sing or hear "God Be With You Til We Meet Again" without tearing up and remembering this wonderful man .....
